DTC 100    Introduction to Digital Technology and Culture    3 Hours

This course introduces students to the interdisciplinary field of the digital technology and culture at the intersections of digital technologies and the humanities. In pursuing these intersections, students will work with encoding, programming digital archives, mapping, data visualization, technological and cultural critique, and physical computing. Throughout these investigations students will pursue inquiry into the entangled relationships between the humanities and digital technology. Students will be introduced to important field scholarship, methods, methodologies, practices, and projects focusing on hands-on inquiry and making. No previous knowledge of digital technology is required.

DTC 400    Capstone in Digital Technology and Culture    1 Hour

A capstone course designed for students in the Digital Technology and Culture certificate. Students will complete projects that demonstrate their research, writing, and analytical skills. The course will explore key digital technology and culture concepts and theories, current topics and developments in the field, careers and graduate programs, and professional ethics. Content areas of the seminar will vary by semester and instructor. To be taken in the last year of the student's program of study in Digital Technology and Culture. Note: 15 hours of certificate courses and Introduction to Digital Technology and Culture required prior to enrollment.

Prerequisite(s): (DTC 100 with a minimum grade of C and UX 220 with a minimum grade of C)
