WKU Online offers flexible pathways to degree completion with nearly 100 fully-online degrees and certificates. Courses are delivered via Blackboard Ultra and are accessible on most internet-ready devices allowing students to learn anytime, anywhere.

WKU Online courses are available in two main formats:

  • Web-Based: Over 1,600 of our online courses utilize a syllabus that follows the semester schedule providing a more traditionally-structured experience with guided interaction from faculty.
  • On Demand: We deliver nearly 100 flexibly=paced, asynchronous courses that allow students to start any day of the year and complete coursework within 7 weeks to 9 months. These courses are ideal for independent learners seeking the maximum level of flexibility WKU Online can offer.

Last year, nearly 600 of our WKU faculty members taught online courses ensuring the same academic quality found on campus.

The team helps online learners balance their academic goals with the realities of work, family, and life. Regardless of whether a student is part-time, full-time, or taking a single online class, our online learners will receive consistent, compassionate support throughout their educational journey with WKU Online.

The DLTC supports academic integrity by providing secure, professional testing services for WKU Online students and the broader community. Certified by the National College Testing Association (NCTA) and adhere to its professional standards when proctoring exams.

Services provided by the DLTC staff include:

  • Proctored exams for online courses
  • Academic placement, admission, and industry-related testing
  • Remote proctoring coordination
  • Technical support for students and faculty

In addition to semester-based online courses, WKU Online offers fully online, asynchronous courses that allow students to study on their own beyond the traditional semester schedule. Courses can be completed in as little as 7 weeks or up to 9 months after enrollment. Nearly 100 On Demand Courses are available and taught by WKU faculty each year.

Students may enroll in On Demand courses at any point and admission to WKU is not required, but students seeking a degree should apply for formal admission.
