The University Libraries of WKU invite you to discover success with outstanding personnel, facilities, support services, and information resources to foster a dynamic learning and research environment through which our community can effectively explore, access, and use information.
The University Libraries serves as a regional lighthouse by:
Creating Environments
Swing by and check out the recently renovated Commons at Helm Library! Multiple collaborative and independent spaces are available for all to use and gather in a modern, multipurpose, student-centered environment that facilities active learning and supports a culture of innovation. University Libraries offer extensive physical and electronic collections, as well as support services to meet the needs of each student—whether on campus, at home, or on-the-go.
Connecting People
The library faculty and staff are committed to helping individuals achieve their academic goals. Through one-on-one consultation, classroom instruction, online chat, and virtual interactions, University Libraries professionals enable library users to become independent thinkers, lifelong learners and global citizens.
Collaborating with All
The Libraries are continuously challenged to balance the resources of the present while preserving the past and preparing for the future. The Special Collections Library houses a wealth of primary research materials in physical and digital format, much of it relating to WKU history and the people of Southcentral Kentucky and surrounding region. TopSCHOLAR®, the open, scholarly and creative database of WKU, makes WKU intellectual assets available to researchers from around the world. Our University Libraries also collaborate with institutions across Kentucky and globally to deliver Interlibrary Loan resources.
